Notice from Junior Convenor

To all Parents/Guardians

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a successful 2017. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Timmy Roche for all his hard work as Junior Convenor last year.

For any of you who are not already aware, I was Junior Captain in 2015 and I am currently PGA Assistant Professional at Newcastle West Golf Club. I will be working alongside Ian Colleran Head PGA Professional. I plan to run a very successful Junior Program for 2017.

Junior Competitions will commence Saturday the 11^th of February at 1PM and will continue until the school year has ended. Competitions will then transfer to Wednesday mornings at 10am. The competition fee will increase from €3 to €5 to allow increased activities for the Juniors.

Junior Coaching will take place 30mins before each competition. It is vital for your son/daughter to attend as this will allow them to develop their skills on and off the golf course. Coaching will be free to members and €5 to visitors.

A rules/etiquette morning will take place Saturday the 11th of February at 11:30AM. Kay Cussen, ILGU International Rules Official and member of Newcastle West Golf Club will be discussing all rules of the game and answering any questions needed. Attendance is compulsory for all Junior members.

Inter Club Competitions take place during the Easter Holidays. This includes Fred Daly and Junior Foursomes. We expect Juniors to attend coaching every Saturday in order to be eligible for a place on the team.
